The Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a one vehicle roll-over on STH 29 east of CTH AB in the Township of Montpelier around 6:00 AM.

When they arrived, they found a semi-tractor pulling a milk tanker had left the roadway and the 21-year-old driver was still inside the cab.

Luxemburg Fire and Rescue along with Montpelier First Responders arrived at the scene to extricate the driver and provide medical care.

The driver was then transported to a hospital in Green Bay with minor injuries.

An initial investigation says the 21-year-old from Kewaunee was driving the 2017 Peterbuilt westbound on STH 29 when it left the roadway and came to a rest in the north ditch of 29.

Kewaunee County Emergency Management was also contacted along with the Department of Natural Resources Spill Coordinator.

Approximately 500 gallons of raw milk was released into the ditch.

The majority of the milk from the tanker was able to transferred to another tanker.

The accident closed STH 29 for about four hours. It re-opened at 10:45 AM.
