Back in March, Life Promotions broke ground on a self-funded massive grandstand at Sunnyview Expo Center.

Measuring 60 feet deep and 150 feet wide, the $972,000 project was officially dedicated Tuesday evening, but event organizers say there’s more to be done before the big debut at Lifest on July 12th.

Festival Director John Dougherty,

If we had a concert tomorrow we’d be ready, but we’re still finishing up a few small details like painting and electrical.

The stage itself is owned and operated by Life Promotions but they have a 10-year lease with the county for the land it sits on.

Festival Director John Dougherty,

We will split stage revenue with the county 50/50 over the next 10 years, but at the end of our 10-year land-lease Life Promotions will be gifting the permanent stage to the county.

Lifest’s official website talks a little bit about why Life promotions took on such a major project:

We’re not just building a structure of steel and concrete. It’s a foundation. At Lifest, the Grandstand stage is a sanctuary. This is where we worship. This is where we connect with God, our families, and our community of faith. The stage is not the focus, but what happens here is what Lifest is focused on: celebrating God’s love and connecting the family of faith. Building the stage is a commitment to make Lifest a permanent part of this region and our future together. It will stand as a monument and a focal point of this Party With a Purpose. What we build in 2018 will impact our future and the future of our children.

Lifest will take place at Sunnyview Expo Center in Oshkosh from July 12th-July 15th.
