The body of a boater that was missing since Friday night has been recovered on the Bay of Green Bay.
The Door County Sheriff’s Department received a report Friday night around 8:30 that a sailboat had washed ashore near Wood Lane and N. Stevenson Pier Roads.
Rescuers found the boat in about 50 feet of water near wood lane in the Township of Gardner.
No one was on board.
Officials say the man had been out sailing by himself since 1:30 Friday afternoon.
Rescue personnel searched the bay by boat and helicopter.
A Coast Guard helicopter located the body at about 9:30 Saturday morning.
The body was recovered in the water off of Bittersweet Rd. in the town of Gardner. and identified as the owner of the sailboat.
An autopsy will be performed to determine cause of death.
The man’s name is not be released pending notification of family.
