ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) – Monster Jam is coming to the Resch Center this weekend.
There are three shows and two pit parties where fans can meet the drivers and get up close and personal with the trucks. The pit parties will take place before the afternoon shows on Saturday and Sunday.
Six drivers and monster trucks will headline the show. They are Tyler Menninga driving the Grave Digger, Jeff Souza driving the Wrecking Machine, Brianna Mahon driving Whiplash, Charlie Pauken driving Stone Crusher, Bryan Wright driving Hooked, and Dave Olfert driving Jurassic Attack.
“It’s an adrenaline rush not only for us but for the fans in the seats,” says Monster Jam driver Brianna Mahon. “I always say you’re going to pay for the whole seat, but you’re only going to need the edge.”
Drivers compete in events such as head-to-head races, two-wheel tricks such as wheelies, and a freestyle round where they get awarded points based on their performances. Monster Jam drivers travel all over the country to compete.
There was supposed to be a show last year in Green Bay, but the pandemic canceled it.
“The biggest thing for me is to make an impact on the places that did get stuff canceled and some of the places that didn’t have a whole lot of stuff going on,” says Monster Jam driver Tyler Menninga. “These people are ready to see something cool. They’re coming out, everything is sort of back to normal and they’re coming out of their houses ready to see stuff. I’m ready to do something cool for them.”
Masks are recommended for those coming to watch especially if they aren’t vaccinated but aren’t required. Organizers say they expect thousands of people to show up to watch.
