MADISON – Former Badger and NFL running back Montee Ball was arrested Saturday night in Whitewater on suspicion of felony bail jumping.
Whitewater police were sent to reports that Ball was at a bar drinking, which was against his bond conditions. The bond conditions were set after he was charged with domestic battery in Dane County.
Police said Ball denied he had been drinking, but witnesses said they saw him consume alcohol and officers could smell alcohol on him.
He was released on $1,000 cash bail.
Ball was bound over for trial in Dane County court Monday on charges of strangulation and suffocation, substantial battery with intent to do bodily harm, and disorderly conduct.
