CHILTON, Wis. (WFRV) – An 82-year-old man has been arrested and referred on charges of hiding the corpse of Neenah resident, Starkie Swenson.

According to Calumet County Sheriff’s Office Mark Wiegert, 82-year-old John Andrews of Chilton was arrested on Thursday morning at around 11:45 a.m.

Andrews is being accused of hiding the corpse of Starkie Swenson, the Neenah man who had been missing for 38 years before his remains were discovered by two hikers in High Cliff State Park back in September of 2021.

Andrews was convicted in 1994 of homicide by the negligent use of a motor vehicle in regards to the death of Starkie Swenson. He received a two-year prison sentence for that conviction.

Andrews has reportedly been booked into Calumet County Correctional facility. Andrews will appear in court for his initial appearance on Friday at 2 p.m.

CHILTON, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials with the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office will hold a Thursday press conference to provide more information on the body of Starkie Swenson that was found back in September.

The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office tells Local 5 that they are holding a press conference regarding the death of Starkie Swenson. Swenson was found dead back in September 2021.

There were no details as to what information will be provided during the conference. The conference is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
