New hall at Champion Shrine dedicated in special ceremony

Local News

A long-time, respected fixture in our area’s Catholic community received a special blessing today.

People were able to attend the blessing and dedication to the new Mother of Mercy Hall at the Champion Shrine located on Chapel Road.

Attendees were able to take part in 11 a.m. mass leading up to the blessing and dedication.

Green Bay’s Bishop David Ricken led the ceremony.

Bishop Ricken says the new Mother of Mercy Hall holds a sentimental meaning to him and the community.

“It means a lot really that from here we’re able to welcome people who may have personal struggles,” says Ricken. “They may want to bring maybe families that just want to come and pray, grow their relationship with Jesus and with Mary.”

Construction of Mother of Mercy Hall, which can seat up to 1,200 people for mass or conference gatherings, began last fall.
