A vacant, two-story home that was under renovation at 165 West Scott Street, caught fire just before 2 a.m. on Friday, according to Fond du Lac Fire Rescue.
Crews found smoke and flames coming from the the rear of the home, and they were able to quickly put it out. The fire damaged the rear of the home, and was contained to the first floor rear stairwell.
Officials say there was no electric or gas service, but Alliant Energy was called to the scene as a precaution. The cause is under investigation, and nobody was injured.
