NORTHEAST WIS. (WFRV) — Here is a compilation of the roadwork happening throughout Northeast Wisconsin from June 10 through June 14.

Door County

Governor Evers has signed a $3.7 million contract to improve eight miles of WIS 42 from County X on the Door/Kewaunee County line to the south junction of WIS 42/WIS 57 south of Sturgeon Bay. 

Work is set to begin June 17 and finish in August of this summer. WIS 42 will remain open to traffic during construction, but motorists should anticipate flagging operations and minor delays.

Crews will mill off existing asphalt and place a new asphalt surface on the roadway. The project also includes storm sewer repairs, culvert replacements, beamguard upgrades, and pavement marking.

Shawano County

The Wisconsin DOT says they will be conducting bridge maintenance on WIS 29 in the Town of Angelica beginning June 10. 

DOT officials want motorists to be aware of a daytime lane closure on the westbound and eastbound WIS 29 bridge at the WIS 55/160 interchange from June 10 through June 13 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. These closures are necessary for crews to complete maintenance.

WIS 441 Tri-County (Winnebago, Outagamie, Calumet)

WisDOT continues to work on the WIS 441 Tri-County Project. Below are the lane closures and ramp restrictions for this week. 

  • County P/Racine Road between Century Oaks Drive and Olde Midway Road will be CLOSED Wednesday, June 12 through the end of August 2019
  • US 10/WIS 441 has no short-term closures this week
  • Long-term closures
    • All ramps at the County AP (Midway Road) interchange are closed through summer 2019
    • Eastbound US 10/northbound WIS 441 off-ramp to Oneida Street is CLOSED and expected to open in July
    • Both US 10/WIS 441 on-ramps from Appleton Road/WIS 47 are CLOSED and expected to open in July
    • County AP/Midway Road between County P/Racine Road and Earl Street in Winnebago County is CLOSED until August 2019
    • The intersection of County AP/Midway Road and Earl Street is CLOSED

The DOT reminds motorists lane restrictions and work operations are weather dependent and subject to change. 

Winnebago County

Crews will be replacing a failing culvert pipe under WIS 21 west of Omro beginning 7 a.m. June 10, continuing until 4 p.m. June 13. 

  • WIS 21 will be CLOSED between County K and WIS 116 for the entirety of this maintenance. A signed detour will be in place
    • Detour: The route will use WIS 116, County E, and County K 
    • Access will be maintained to properties and businesses in the closure limits.
  • Maintenance crews will be repairing pavement on northbound WIS 76 from County Y to Green Hill Court, daily, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., on June 10 to June 13.
    • Various lanes on WIS 76 at this location will be CLOSED during repairs.
  • Maintenance crews will be repairing pavement on southbound WIS 76 from WIS 76 divide to County Y, daily, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., on June 10 to June 13.
    • Various lanes on WIS 76 at this location will be CLOSED during repairs.

Brown County

Maintenance crews will be repairing the shoulder on northbound WIS 57 at I-43 from 7 a.m. June 10 through 3 p.m. June 12. The right lane on WIS 57 at this location will be CLOSED during repairs.

  • There will be lane restrictions on I-43 during repairs
  • While crews repair the pipe on northbound I-43 at WIS 96, daily, the left lane on I-43 at this location will be CLOSED during repairs. 

Oconto County

  • Maintenance crews will be repairing concrete on northbound US 41 from Sunrise Lane to Fortune Lane from 6 a.m. June 10 through 5 p.m. June 13.
    • The right lane on US 41 at this location will be CLOSED during repairs.
  • Maintenance crews will be repairing concrete on northbound US 41 at Erdman Lane from 6 a.m. June 10 through 4 p.m. June 17.
    • The right lane on US 41 at this location will be CLOSED during repairs.

Manitowoc County 

Maintenance crews will be asphalt patching on northbound I-43 from westbound WIS 310 to Manitowoc/Brown County line, daily, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on June 10 to June 13.

  • Various lanes on I-43 at this location will be CLOSED during the patching.

Maintenance crews will be asphalt patching on southbound I-43 from Brown/Manitowoc County Line to westbound US 10, daily, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on June 10 to June 13.

  • Various lanes on I-43 at this location will be CLOSED during the patching.

Sheboygan County

Maintenance crews will be leveling pavement at the bridge approaches on eastbound WIS 23 at Sunset Drive, daily, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Thursday, June 13.

  • Various lanes on WIS 23 at this location will be CLOSED during leveling.

Maintenance crews will be leveling pavement at the bridge approaches on westbound WIS 23 at Sunset Drive, daily, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., on June 11 to June 12.

  • Various lanes on WIS 23 at this location will be CLOSED during leveling.

Crews will be repairing asphalt shoulder on northbound I-43 from Ozaukee/Sheboygan County line to Amsterdam Road, daily, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 10.

  • The right lane on I-43 at this location will be CLOSED during repairs. 

Maintenance schedules can change due to weather and crew personnel. 

Officials want to remind drivers to be aware of crews at work in these areas. Motorists should also keep in mind that using handheld cell phones in work zones across the state is illegal.
