Local News

Notre Dame Academy will showcase its students’ talents in the musical Bye Bye Birdie four times in January. Two stars of the show, Charles Peterson and Maya Abujamra, performed live on Local 5 This Morning ahead of opening night.

Bye Bye Birdie is an American musical about fictional pop sensation Conrad Birdie and his final performance before being drafted to the army. As a farewell, the rock and roll star is scheduled to sing Albert Peterson’s “One Last Kiss” and kiss a girl from Sweet Apple, Ohio live on the Ed Sullivan Show.

However, Conrad makes more than one man in town uncomfortable, many of whom attempt to stop the show from happening. Meanwhile, Rosie wonders if Albert, for whom she does everything, will ever leave his mother’s shadow.

Show dates and times:

  •  January 17 at 7 p.m. (Opening Night)
  • January 18 at 7 p.m. (Alumni Night)
  • January 19 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. (Senior Night)
