UPDATE: Fredenburgh faces an additional charge for an incident back in 2008

SURING, Wis. (WFRV) – John Fredenburgh faces an additional sexual assault charge for a reported offense that happened in 2008.

According to court records, 36-year-old Fredenburgh was charged with 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child that happened in September of 2008.

With this charge, Fredenburgh’s total is now up to 25.

The charge was filed on March 16, 2021, and further information is available at this time.

UPDATE: Fredenburgh’s bond set at $500k, back in court March 26

SURING, Wis. (WFRV) – A $500,000 cash bond was set for 36-year-old John Fredenburgh as he faces 24 total charges related to an alleged 5-year secret relationship with a child.

According to court documents, Fredenburgh’s cash bond was adjusted down to $500,000 with the conditions of no firearms, no access to drugs other than prescribed, no contact with the victim, the victim’s family or children (excluding his own).

Fredenburgh will be back in court on Friday, March 26 for his arraignment hearing.

UPDATE: Fredenburgh now faces seven more charges, 24 total

SURING, Wis. (WFRV) – John Fredenburgh will be in court Friday, and now has seven more charges bringing the total count to 24.

According to court records Fredenburgh has the following charges:

Repeated Sexual Assault of Same Child (At Least 3 Violations of 1st Degree Sexual Assault)
Three counts of 1st Degree Child Sex Assault – Sexual Contact with Person under Age of 13
Three counts of Repeated Sexual Assault of Same Child (At Least 3 Violations of 1st or 2nd Degree Sexual Assault)
Five counts of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of Child
Use a Computer to Facilitate a Child Sex Crime
Two counts of Possession of Child Pornography
Five counts of Child Enticement-Sexual Contact
Causing Mental Harm to Child
Cause Child 13-18 to View Sex. Activity
False Imprisonment
Intimidate Victim/Threaten Force, etc.

Friday, March 11 at 8:30 a.m. is when Fredenburgh will be in court.

All charges are reportedly in relation to an alleged five-year secret relationship Fredenburgh had with a child.

UPDATE: Fredenburgh had 5-year secret relationship with child, worked as substitute teacher

TUESDAY 3/9/2021 1:00 p.m.

SURING, Wis. (WFRV) – 36-year-old John Fredenburgh had an alleged five-year secret relationship with a child.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim was 12 when the sexual incidents began in 2017. The victim told her mother about the secret relationship and they subsequently contacted the police.

Over the course of the five-year encounter, Fredenburgh took her ‘up north’ and meet her during camping trips and at motels.

The victim said Fredenburgh constantly used his Marinette County CPS badge to get discounts for rooms.

Fredenburgh told the victim to keep the relationship “secret” as he was married with multiple minor children. The criminal complaint says Fredenburgh told the victim he would wait until she is 19 or 20 years old to leave his family.

Oconto County Sheriff’s Deputies placed Fredenburgh under arrest on Sunday, Feb. 28, at 5:10 p.m.

The complaint says that Fredenburgh began working at Suring Scool as a Running Coach in 2019 and is currently a substitute teacher.

According to court documents Fredenburgh will be in Oconto County Court on Friday, Mar. 12 for a preliminary hearing.

UPDATE: 17 charges related to sexual assault of a child, Suring man identified

TUESDAY 3/9/2021 9:30 a.m.

SURING, Wis. (WFRV) – The Suring man who was involved in an alleged sexual assault incident has been identified and faces 17 charges.

According to the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, 36-year-old John Fredenburgh has been charged with the following:

Three counts of Repeated Sexual Assault of Child
Five counts of Sexual Assault of A Child Under 16 Years of Age
Use of a Computer to Facilitate a Child Sex Crime
Five counts of Child Enticement
Cause Mental Harm to a Child
Causing a Child under 13 to View/Listen to Sexual Activity
Felony Intimidation of a Victim

The incident reportedly occurred on Feb. 28 around 9:30 a.m. and Fredenburgh was subsequently arrested and booked into the Oconto County Jail on the charge of Sexual Assault of a Child

The incident is still under investiagtion, and no further information is available at this time.
