Oconto Police Department, Oconto Fire & Rescue Department, Oconto County Sheriff’s Department, and Oconto County Emergency Management rescued 8 fishermen who were stranded on the Bay of Green Bay Thursday.

In a post on their Facebook page, the Oconto Police Department’s said:

The fishermen were in 4 separate boats, which became stuck on the water when ice shoves suddenly blocked the channel.

A private citizen granted rescue crews access to their boat launch and Oconto Fire was able to use their Humvee to pull all the boats off the water.

No one was injured during this rescue. Great teamwork by all involved!

Thanks to the boat launch owners for the use of their private property and for sharing these photos/videos.
