Officer that killed Antigo prom shooter cleared, surveillance video released

The officer that shot and killed the Antigo prom shooter has been cleared of any wrongdoing. 

Langlade County Special Prosecutor Galen Bayne-Allison made the ruling Thursday. The Wisconsin Department of Justice also released their findings and videos from the investigation.

The shooting happened on April 23 when 18-year-old Jakob Wagner shot two people at the prom.

Officer Andrew Hopfensperger returned fire at Wagner. He was shot three times. 

Wagner was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died at 1:06 a.m. after doctors attempted lifesaving measures.

The two victims have since recovered.
