Officer Who Shot a Man on the Trestle Trail in May Will Not Face Charges

From Winnebago County where the 911 calls have been released from that deadly shooting on the Trestle Trail back in May. 

Police Officer Seely Moe shot and killed Joshua Gomol on May 23 in Fritse Park when he was reported acting erratically while holding a knife. 

Officer Moe has been in law enforcement for 20 years. 

The District Attorney’s Office reviewed the case on August 1, and determined the use of force was justified. 

The Winnebago County District Attorney will not be filing charges against Officer Moe.
