On-duty Wisconsin trooper killed in rollover crash

A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper was killed in a rollover crash Tuesday morning in Sauk County. 

The accident happened on east Interstate 90 near mile marker 89 at 4:30 a.m.

The on-duty trooper, Anthony Borostowski of Tomah, was headed east on I-90-94 when he lost control of the car, entered the ditch and hit a tree, according to WISC.

The trooper was pronounced dead at the scene.

Borostowski was a trooper and a staff sergeant in the Wisconsin National Guard. 

Five miles of the highway was closed for several hours Tuesday morning. 

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
