GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A local resident just proved that they truly are one in a million, or more like a one in 292.2 million, type of person after being a winner of the infamous $600+ million Powerball jackpot.

According to Wisconsin lottery officials, on Jan. 5, two jackpot-winning tickets were pulled; one was sold in Ashwaubenon and one sold in Sacramento, California.

The total jackpot for this drawing was $632,600,000 with both of the winners each claiming a lump sum prize of $316,300,000.

Wisconsin’s winning ticket was reportedly sold in the Jackson Point CITGO, located on 2710 Packerland Drive, in Ashwaubenon. And while this is very exciting news, lottery officials confirm that the winner has not yet claimed their cash prize.

Officials are now urging all residents who may have purchased Powerball ticket(s) at the Jackson Point CITGO location to check their tickets for the winning numbers: 6, 14, 25, 33, 46, Powerball 17.

“Check your tickets you will be a winner, one of you is going to win. So, with that being said: ‘What do you do if you are a winner?’ First and foremost, please, sign the back of your ticket, it is the only way to prove that you are the owner of that winning ticket… After you do that please give the lottery a call when you’d like to come in and validate your ticket,” shared a Wisconsin lottery official during a Thursday press conference.

Additionally, the winning resaler, Jackson Point CITGO, will be receiving $100,000 for selling the winning Powerball ticket making everyone a winner today.

“I am thrilled I am so happy for the winner. I’m so excited to meet you,” shared a Wisconsin lottery official.

Original Story: One of the two jackpot-winning Powerball sold in Ashwaubenon

(WFRV) – There were two winning tickets for the $600+ million Powerball jackpot, and one of them happened to be drawn in Wisconsin.

According to Powerball’s website, there were two jackpot-winning tickets that matched five main numbers and the Powerball. Those two winning tickets were sold in Wisconsin and California.

The total jackpot for this drawing was 632,600,000. The drawing was on Jan. 5.

Both of the winners can each claim a lump sum prize of $316,300,000.

To date, Wisconsin has reportedly had 19 jackpot winners. That is the fourth-most in the country behind only Minnesota, Missouri, and Indiana.

At this time, the Wisconsin Lottery has not identified the winner, as the most recent winner was Victoria from Pelican Lake who won $50,000 from Powerball on Dec. 2. However, the Wisconsin Lottery did say the ticket was sold in Green Bay. It was mentioned in the comments of the post.

The Wisconsin Lottery says they will release more information soon.
