UPDATE: Chilton Man Dies After Motorcycle Accident

CHILTON, Wis. (WFRV) - UPDATE 5/14/2018 9:03 AM:

The Calument County Sheriff's Office reports 55-year-old James Schwamer of Chilton died as the result of the injuries suffered in a crash on HWY 57 and CTH E on Sunday morning.

A 55-year-old Chilton man suffered life-threatening injuries in a vehicle vs motorcycle crash just after 10:00 am Sunday morning. 

The crash happened at the intersection of highway 57 and county highway E in the Town of Chilton. 

A car traveling southbound turned in front of the motorcycle was traveling northbound. 

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

The passenger of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. 

The driver of the car, a 33-year-old Milwaukee man was not injured. 

The passenger in the car was also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. 

The crash remains under investigation.
