Monetary donations will also go to support the Gary Kassube Memorial Scholarship, given to two high school students who will be enrolled in a post-secondary fire or police science program.
Since 2010 we have collected 32,000 pounds of food, 20,000 toys, and $13,000 to help less fortunate families in Oshkosh have a better holidays.
The dates and areas for this year’s drive are:
Monday, December 4th – Station 14-south side
Thursday, December 7th – Station 15-central city
Monday, December 11th – Station 16-west side
Tuesday, December 12th – Station 17/19-north central area
Thursday, December 14th – Station 18-northeast side
All routes begin at 5:00 PM and end around 7:30. Please “Like” our page, Oshkosh Fire Department Food and Toy Drive, on Facebook for up-to-date information and maps. New this year, thanks to Oshkosh North Communities Program, people can follow us on Twitter @OshkoshFoodToy to live track where we are on our route to get a more accurate estimate of when we’ll be coming by their homes. Donations can also be dropped off at any Oshkosh fire station until December 14th.
We’d like to thank the Salvation Army for accepting our donations, Oshkosh Fire and Police Equipment for the use of their antique fire engine as Santa’s sleigh, and the Oshkosh North Communities program for all of their help promoting this drive.
