The Oshkosh Area Humane Society is offering a $500 reward for information that leads to the recovery of a kitten named Spanky that was stolen from the shelter on Tuesday night December 12.
“We had numerous visitors come in right before closing. All of our cat rooms are locked and only staff can let people in but it’s possible someone got in as someone else was coming out. It’s a very small kitten and could have easily been hidden in a jacket or bag,” said Executive Director Joni Geiger.
To make matters even worse, Spanky had an approved adoption application and was scheduled to go home on Wednesday with his new family, which included children anxiously awaiting his arrival in time for the holidays.
Geiger also wants the person who took Spanky to know they can return him. “We’re asking the people to do the right thing. We just want Spanky back.”
If you have any information on Spanky, please contact the Oshkosh Area Humane Society.
