Oshkosh students will be taking part in a nationwide march on the 19th anniversary of the Columbine school shooting.
High school students in the greater Oshkosh area will march from the east-side Pick ‘n Save parking lot to Senator Ron Johnson’s Oshkosh office in protest of gun violence in schools and in support of stricter laws for gun reform.
The march will begin at 4 p.m. and walk 1.9 miles to Senator Johnson’s office, which will tax approximately 45 minutes. They will then hold a rally to as the senator to act on gun violence by supporting gun reform proposals, such as banning high-capacity magazines and closing loopholes ot ensure that all gun purchases include a background check.
At 5:20, participants will hold a rally at the Sun Dial and will spread their message by writing and drawing with sidewalk chalk. Closing remarks will take place at 6:20.
