Paint the Town Blue for National Boys & Girls Club Week

Local News

Today The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay kicked off a week-long celebration for National Boys & Girls Club Week.

This week is dedicated to teaching the community about the Club and how it supports kids within greater Green Bay.

Paint the Town Blue was an initiative created locally to bring community leaders and businesses together to show the youth that the entire city supports them and believes in their potential. This initiative is meant to show a prominent door at a business, office or home covered in blue made by the local Boys & Girls Club kids.

The Green Bay Police Department was part in kicking off this event, where kids covered Captain Kevin Warych’s  office door in blue paper.

“It’s so important for the Police Department to be involved in these kids lives because we’re mentors, we’re friends, some are even parental figures to these kids that don’t have that in their lives,” said Warych.

From now until this Friday, all local Boys & Girls Clubs invite families, kids and supporters to take a tour of the facilities to learn more and join the organization.
