Saving Paws Animal Rescue of Appleton has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support the construction of a building to help house and care for dogs.
The Petco Foundation investment will help Saving Paws construct a small dog building to house dogs looking for their forever home.
It will serve as a quarantine area, a birthing area for pregnant dogs, and a training room.
The building will also allow Saving Paws to rescue and train more dogs to become therapy animals for people in need, through the S.P.A.R.K.E.D. (Saving Paws Animal Rescue K-9’s Empowering the Disabled) program.
Glenda Stadler, co-director of Saving Paws,
“We are 100 percent foster-based so having a building where we can take in dogs would assist us tremendously.
The Petco Foundation’s support means more dogs will be rescued and more homes will be filled with love.”
