A small plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Waushara County on Sunday after experiencing a mechanical problem, according to the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office.
The department says around 6:29 p.m., two people in the airplane called 911 and said they were having problems and would be forced to make an emergency landing. The plane landed in a farm field, and the two aboard were safe.
The field was off of 28th Road in the Town of Saxeville. There was damage to the landing gear and the propellor, but the plane was still intact.
The two on the plane were from Port Orange, Florida. They were on their way to the airport in Waupaca from Florida, coming up for EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh. They were transported to the Waupaca Airport by the Sheriff’s Office.
