Oshkosh police are investigating a suspicious situation that may involve a skimming device.

A skimming device is a method used by criminals to capture data from the magnetic stripe on the back of a credit card.

Police tell Local 5 news that the reported device was found at the Citgo gas station on main street.

Policy at the business is to notify police when this type of device is found, so the public can be aware of potential breaches.

If you have purchased gas at pump number three at this location, be sure to keep a close eye on card statements. If you have any information, contact police.
