Pro-Education Rapper Visits UWGB

Local News

A national hip-hop recording artist is in town pushing a message of financial responsibility.
Dee-1 is visiting UWGB as part of his ongoing ‘Knowledge for College Tour’.

Teacher turned rapper–Dee 1–will be dropping college planning wisdom at the Weidner Center.

In front of about 1,600 middle and high school students from 23 schools.
And he will come packing with his hit single ‘Sallie Mae Back.’

This nationwide tour promotes financial planning for kids exposing them to Sallie Mae, the country’s saving, planning and paying for college company.
He does not just sling hard-hitting rhymes, either. He’ll be making it rain for students, encouraging the nomination of high school juniors and seniors for Sallie Mae’s $25,000 Bridging the Dream Scholarship.

This will all get started at the Weidner Center at 9:15am, with a subsequent performance at 12pm Wednesday.
