Two boys, ages 15 and 17, are in custody after stealing a vehicle and leading authorities on a high speed pursuit. The boys are allegedly runaway students from the Rawhide Boys Ranch.
The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office says it happened Saturday around 5:30 p.m. when they received a report that a white SUV had been stolen from a rural home in New London. New London officers then tried to stop the vehicle, but the boys took off speeding. The New London Police Department then terminated their pursuit.
The SUV was then seen driving northbound on Highway 45 north of New London . A pursuit by Waupaca County Sheriff’s Deputies was then terminated because of the high rate of speed. The Clintonville Police Department also terminated a short pursuit due to speed as well.
The vehicle eventually entered Shawano County and rolled over. The boys were injured in the crash but there’s no update on their status. The investigation is ongoing.
