Red Cross Offers Relief in Sturgeon Bay After Fire

Local News

The American Red Cross set up a one stop shop offering victims of a fire in Sturgeon Bay access to resources to put their lives back together. An apartment complex was destroyed in a fire on Saturday morning, the Red Cross stepped in immediately to help people who all of a sudden didn’t have a home.

Today, victims of that fire were able to assemble and get access to multiple resources in Door County. There was the Brown County Public Health Department, Brown County Human Services, Lakeshore CAP, Door County Register of Deeds, Neighbor to Neighbor, Feed my People, Veteran’s Services, St. Vincent DePaul, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and the YMCA.

Since the disaster the Red Cross made sure victims had access to blankets, medical supplies, housing and someone they could talk. None of the victims wanted to be on camera, but they were very grateful to the Red Cross.

The Red Cross is always looking for volunteers to help with disasters.
