One of the state’s biggest political issues will be the main topic of conversation at a meeting Tuesday, April 25 at 7 p.m. at the Appleton Public Library.
Citizen Action of Wisconsin is organizing the town hall Tuesday night to talk about non-partisan districting reform.
Last November, federal judges ruled that legislative districts drawn up by Republican lawmakers in 2011 unfairly favored the GOP and were unconstitutional.
Now, two bills working through the state would put redistricting under the control of the Legislative Reference Bureau, and would be modeled after the state of Iowa’s system.
One of the speakers at the town hall will be Senator Dave Hansen, who introduced one of those bills.
