Semi Truck Crash Causes Power Outages in Mishicot

UPDATE: 5/3/18 Power has been restored to affected residents. 


An overnight semi-truck crash knocked out power to thousands of residents in Mishicot early Thursday morning, according to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department. 

At 2:33 a.m. of a semi truck carrying feed for animals struck a utility pole at the intersection of Randolph and Spruce Streets in the Village of Mishicot, according to the sheriff’s department. 

The collision initially knocked out power to 3,000 residents. Just before 6 a.m. only 100 homes were still in the dark, according to crews. 

No injuries have been reported.
