Over a dozen agencies responded to reports of a structure fire on Design Drive in the Town of Greenville Friday morning.
Fire officials say the call came out at 5:23 a.m.
The three-tenant commercial property was reportedly engulfed in black smoke when fire crews arrived on scene.
16 agencies in total responded to the call, including Greenville Fire, Greenville First Responders, Airport Public Safety, Fox Crossing Fire, Grand Chute Fire, Ellington Fire, Hortonville Fire, Hortonville EMS, Appleton Fire, New London Fire, Gold Cross Ambulance, Outagamie County CERT, Greenville Public Works, Outagamie County Highway Department, Outagamie County Sheriffs’ Office, and WE Energies.
Fire officials told Local 5 that the large response was due to weather conditions at the time of the fire, as more crews were needed to rotate in and out of the firefighting effort.
There were no injuries reported due to the fire, and the building was not occupied when the fire broke out.
Fire officials say icy and cold conditions complicated firefighting efforts.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and no damages estimates are available at this time.
