Eight families are displaced after an overnight fire in Shiocton, according to the Shiocton Bovina Fire Department. The cause of the fire is not yet known.  The building was left uninhabitable.

It was reported at around 1:00 A.M. Monday morning at an apartment building on Broad Street.

Several departments responded to the scene, including Shiocton Bovina, Seymour, Black Creek, Bear Creek and Nichols.

Crews say they had to make a hole in the roof in order to help with ventilation.

The Red Cross will be assisting those displaced.
