Shelter In Place and Evacuations Ordered for Brown County

Local News

Brown County Emergency Management is warning residents to use caution with the recent flooding we’ve seen.

They have ordered a “shelter in place” which means if you’re in your home, stay in your home. That includes residents that live off of Lime Kiln in the subdivision of Daly Drive, Palmer Court, Palmer Drive, Lopez Lane, Trevino Drive, Johnny Lane, Faldo Lane and Tiger Court.

Emergency Management also ordered evacuations for residents that live on Monroe between 172 and Dickinson. They say the area affected is south of Lamers. Those north of Lamers are asked to arrange for possible evacuations.

Anyone affected in those areas is asked to have a to-go bag ready with medication, change of clothes, and anything you need to get out in a hurry in case you’re evacuated.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office adds that if you come across a flooded roadway, do not attempt to drive through it as you may end up getting stranded and trapped.
