Shop for Phia raising money for organ transplant patients

Local News

Appleton (WFRV) Currently more than 116-thousand people are on the organ transplant waiting list.
And about every 10 minutes a person dies waiting for an organ to become available.

Sunday an event in Appleton was held to help get those people the life saving transplant they need– all in the name of one little girl.

The ‘Shop for Phia’ craft and vendor show was held Sunday.
The event began four years ago to help offset medical costs for Sophia Skrede- a little girl who received a liver transplant.
Phia is doing great now—  so the event is raising money to help families and individuals on the transplant journey and to the UW Organ and Tissue Program.
