Teenager who died in Waupaca County shooting identified

UPDATE: The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim as 15-year-old Jacob A. Peglow of rural Waupaca. 

Peglow died in a shooting in the town of Farmington. The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office believes the shooting is accidental, and an investigation is underway.

The Sheriff’s Office tells Local Five that they received a 9-1-1 call about 12:49 pm Wednesday that a boy had been shot in the shoulder with a .22 caliber firearm.  The caller, was coached on life saving procedures over the phone, as emergency crews raced to the home on Rieben Road, the town of Farmington.

Although Theda Star medical helicopter was called to the scene for transport, it was too late. The 15 year old boy died at the scene.  No further details are yet available.
