The 11th annual Battle on Bago, a two-day ice fishing tournament benefiting local youth and conservation efforts, is being held Friday and Saturday at Menominee Park in Oshkosh. The tournament will feature more than $275,000 in prizes. The event takes place across four Fox Valley lakes – Lake Winnebago, Lake Winneconne, Lake Poygan, and Lake Butte des Morts. Tickets to compete are on sale through 6 a.m. on Friday.
“As one of the biggest ice fishing tournaments in the world, we take great pride in putting on a competitive, family-friendly event that directly supports our community,” said Glenn Curran, president of the board for Battle on Bago. “We are especially excited for this year’s tournament, which features our largest prize pool ever as well as special membership packages, raffles and more.”
Earlier this week, Curran joined Brittany Falkers and Nate Stewart on Local 5 This Morning to talk more about how everyone can take part in the event even if you don’t register, and how one lucky angler could win a truck with their catch.
