Three people are out of their home Saturday after an early morning fire on Green Bay’s east side.
Crews were called to a home on Day Street just after 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department says everyone in the home was able to get out safely.
Crews found a fire in a first floor bedroom and were able to extinguish it in under 10 minutes.
Fire damage was confined to the bedroom, with smoke damage throughout.
Damages are estimated at $10,000.
The cause of the fire is under Investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office.
Fire officials say one of the residents had closed the door to the fire room before exiting which greatly minimized the spread of the fire and smoke damage.
Offiicals want to remind people to sleep with bedroom doors closed to increase their chances to escape in the event of a fire and limit fire spread and damage.
