Titletown’s ice skating rink is opening for the first time ever Thursday afternoon as part of the first day of the Winter Jubilee, which will kick off a series of festive Titletown activities to be held throughout winter.
The rink will be open from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Skate rentals will be $5 a pair.
“The impact on the community, i mean really, it’s gonna be astronomical,” said Titletown’s Programs and Events Manager. “So many people are excited about this. Winter is such a big deal here in Green Bay because it’s a big chunk of the year, so to be able to be outdoors and be active is a really exciting thing.”
The first day of the Winter Jubilee will also feature the grand opening of the 46 Below Bistro and Rockwood Terrace event space.
There’s also going to be ice sculptors turning blocks of ice into works of art, and a visit from Santa Claus himself.
Thursday night, the inaugural Winter Jubilee light show will also debut. The light show will take place several times each night on most Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays the rest of the year. It’s a family friendly presentation featuring holiday-themed lights, music, special effects, animation, lasers, and fireworks.
All these activities are free and open to the public.
The Winter Jubilee celebration begins in Titletown at 3 p.m.
After Thursday, there’s much more holiday programming at Titletown the rest of the year. For a list of Titletown events for the remainder of 2017, click here.
