SUAMICO (WFRV) - While many professional footballers took to the field Sunday, a less competitive but equally fun game took place in Suamico.
Bay Port Football teamed up with Centerpiece to put on Touchdowns for Autism.
It's an all inclusive game of football that gives children diagnosed with Autism the chance to hit the field.
Organizers say this is the first event in our area, but it's been very popular in Milwaukee.
"It's an opportunity for children diagnosed with Autism and their siblings to participate in an event," said Nicole Berlowski, the Director of Human and Public Relations at Centerpiece. "We've had about 75 attend, and we're hoping in the coming years it'll increase."
Nicole says the Bay Port High School football team helped direct the drills and stations, and also gave one-on-one support.
They hope to make Touchdowns for Autism an annual event in our area.
