Tugboats Returning the Burns Harbor Ship to Port in Sturgeon Bay

Local News

A ship is being towed back to harbor in Sturgeon Bay.

There is no official confirmation as to why tugboats are returning the ship to harbor, but commuters should prepare for backups as it passes under the bridge.

The Burns Harbor left Bay Shipbuilding Tuesday morning, but was forced to call for tugboats to return the ship to port.

Local 5 reached out to Bay Shipbuilding, but they declined to comment at the time.

The Burns Harbor is being towed backward because the channel isn’t wide enough for the ship to be spun around.

Local 5 will continue to follow this story for updates.
