Entrepreneurs and remote-working employees can soon gather and share ideas at two new co-working spaces in downtown Green Bay. As Local 5’s Kris Schuller reports those behind the efforts say it’s an innovation long in demand.
For the last month Luke Beno has been working remotely here in a space he has rented at T2 – a technology accelerator and co-working space in the Rail Yard complex in downtown Green Bay.
“It’s good to get out and have an office setting and interact with other people and this has been the perfect opportunity to do that for me,” said Beno.
Jim Kratowicz says T2 was created to meet the shifting needs of young professionals, especially those in the technology sector.
“There was a hole in the marketplace that we recognized,” said Kratowicz, COO, Titletown Brewing.
“This is our team office, a little bit larger, $800 a month, but almost twice the size of the normal offices,” said Eric Jandrain, co-owner of Rise and Grind.
On the third floor of the Brown County Library another co-working startup -Rise and Grind. Where the self-employed looking for workspace can perform their jobs anywhere – thanks to a high-speed internet connection.
“You’ll see more people that want more flexible options to work, rather than a 9 to 5 sitting at a desk all day,” said Jandrain.
Both businesses have had soft openings and interest is there for the co-working concept- so popular in larger communities.
“I think the one thing people really like about co-working space is the collaboration,” said Jandrain.
“The demand is there, we think there is a pent-up demand for that,” Kratowicz said.
Rise and Grind with a coffee shop on site – T2 offering additional programming for entrepreneurs to get their business ideas off the ground.
“Discussions on branding, trademark, etc., everything that a young small company would need,” said Kratowicz.
Two businesses aimed at attracting young professionals like Beno in the hopes of keeping them in the community for years to come.
Rise and Grind will have a grand opening May 3rd and T2’s official launch is expected in the coming months.
