A unique performance will be on display this weekend on the Lawrence University Campus in Appleton.
“Breathe: A Multi-disciplinary Water Opera“ will be performed in and around the water at the pool in the school’s wellness center.
All the usual opera expectations will come along with the show such as singers, percussionists, trumpets, a cello, and even a flute.
There will also be dancers, a keyboardist, and a bass player.
The composer and musical director for the production, Loren Kiyoshi Dempster, talked about the uniqueness of this show:
“When we normally consider the arts, we put it on a stage, and we sit, and there it is, But here the audience is going to interact in a much different way.”
The show will take place at 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday,
Admission is free but reservations are required by calling the Lawrence Box Office at (920)832-6749.
