UPDATE: Brillion Man in Custody After Appleton Bank Robbery

The Appleton Police Department has arrested 31 Wesley D. Cox of Brillion for a bank robbery occurring in downtown Appleton yesterday afternoon.

Officials say Cox is currently at Outagamie County Jail on charges of Resisting and Robbery of a Financial Institution.

The woman taken into custody was interviewed and released.


TUESDAY 5/29/2018 9:10p.m.

Police say a man and a woman are in custody after reportedly robbing the Chase Bank in the 200 block of College Avenue just before 4:00 pm today. 

A witness reported the description of the getaway car as well as a partial license plate number and the police were able to pull the car over in the 900 block of West Grant Street.

The suspects pulled into a driveway and the male left the vehicle and fled on foot, while the woman stayed in the vehicle.

The man was caught after a brief foot chase. 

Both were taken into custody. The male was taken to the hospital for injuries and will be questioned after being medically cleared. 

No weapon was shown during the robbery and no one else was injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
