UPDATE: De Pere Hotel Feasibility Study Approved

Local News

UPDATE: De Pere has approved the hotel study.

De Pere’s city council is trying to make the city more attractive for businesses.
Tuesday’s agenda says Cobblestone Hotels is interested in bringing a 45-60 room hotel in, but needs convincing.

A feasibility study costing upwards of $10,000 is being proposed to help incentivize the hotel and other outside businesses to move into the city by showing there’s a demand.

In addition to that–the De Pere Ice Arena needs repairs and some in the city want to get a move on.

In order to get it operating by the midway point of this month, the arena needs a temporary chiller at a cost of around $60,000.
Repairs to the existing coolant system will cost between 170 and $190,000–bumping the total cost to about $250,000.

Council will weigh the pros and cons tonight at 7:30 inside city hall.
