Barron County Sheriff “Struggling” to Find Answers in Amber Alert Investigation

The Barron School District Superintendent is extending the district’s sincere gratitude for the support given by the community.

The Superintendent describes Jayme as a sweet quiet girl who is a loyal friend and who loves to dance.

She says Jayme is also a runner on the school’s cross country team.

The superintendent shared a story that in a recent assignment a teacher asked students if given a million dollars what they would do with it; Jayme said she would feed the hungry and give the rest to the poor.

The Barron County Sheriff, Chris Fitzgerald, is saying they are struggling with the investigation because they don’t have the answers they want to give to the public.

I’ll be honest…we’re…I’m struggling with this cuz I don’t have some of those answers that I want to give you.

Sheriff Fitzgerald also says information not provided by their office has not been vetted and should be considered carefully; they have no credible information about the reports coming out of Miami.

There is no information on whether or not the death of Jayme’s parents was a targeted attack, but the autopsy into their deaths is scheduled for Wednesday.

The FBI is saying they are committed to finding Jayme and are asking for the public’s help.
