UPDATE: Mother of Two Dies From Gun Shot Wounds in Suamico
2/18/2019 11:01 a.m.
A mother of two is dead after a domestic dispute in the Village of Suamico.
34-year-old Suamico native Brooke Fontaine was staying at her parents’ house when the father of her 14-month-old allegedly started shooting into the house.
Police have identified 28-year-old Milwaukee native Sebastian Dershon Royal, previously known as Demitrius Moore, as the suspect.
A preliminary investigation shows Brooke had two children, a four year-old from a previous relationship and a 14 month-old with Royal.
Deputies say Fontaine and Royal had been involved in a custody dispute in Outagamie County.
Just before the shooting, in a Facebook Live, Royal reportedly left an apology and explanation for his son saying he was going to, “do what was fair.”
According to investigators, Royal then proceeded to shoot multiple rounds into the four-year-old’s bedroom through a window where Brooke Fontaine’s mother was also staying.
Brooke Fontaine’s mother covered the four year-old. Brooke Fotnaine ran to the window yelling at Royal to stop.
Royal then allegedly shot Brooke in the head through the window. He then went down to the driveway and shot himself.
Authorities say Royal died from what they believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Fontaine died from her injuries just before 7 a.m. after being taken to the hospital.
Deputies say the children are safe.
The investigation is ongoing.
