UPDATE: Oshkosh Police have arrested two males involved in a Monday morning utility pole crash, which led to a vehicle chase.
The crash occurred at 2:09 AM on Jackson Street, which resulted in a power outage. The vehicle is believed to be stolen from Washington County. The driver, a 19-year-old male, fled the scene, which led to a vehicle pursuit. At 6:08 AM, the driver crashed near the intersection of Bowen Street and Irving Avenue and was arrested on multiple charges.
Meanwhile, a 16-year-old male involved in the first crash, was also arrested and has been placed in a juvenile detention facility.
Alcohol and/or drugs are suspected to have played a factor in both incidents.
Oshkosh Police say they were involved in a short vehicle chase Monday morning.
Around 6 a.m. officers were called to the 400 block of Baldwin Avenue for a report of a vehicle parked on the grass with a male hunched over the steering wheel. When officers tried to communicate with that person, he drove off.
A brief chase then happened before the vehicle crashed into a power pole near the intersection of Bowen Street and East Irving Avenue. The driver then ran from the crash and was found shortly after. He sustained minor injuries from the crash.
Further investigation showed the vehicle to have been stolen. Police say the 19-year-old Oshkosh man is in custody on several arrest warrants and faces multiple criminal charges.
