UPDATE: Police release information regarding North FdL gas leak
WEDNESDAY 5/15/19 11:27 A.M.
FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) — North Fond du Lac Police are continuing to investigate a vehicle incident which resulted in 80 to 100 people being evacuated due to a gas leak.
According to officials, officers were dispatched around 4:00 p.m. Tuesday to the Gaslight Terrace Mobile Home Park for multiple reports of vehicles being recklessly driven through the area.
Callers stated one vehicle was “chasing” the other and “one male hitting another male with his vehicle.”
Police say callers then said one of the vehicles struck a house on Cardinal Court, knocking off the gas meter, resulting in a gas leak.
North Fond du Lac Police Chief Darren Pautsch said, “This wasn’t a random road rage type incident. The people in the involved vehicles know one another. At this time, we are working to locate everyone involved and clarify their roles.”
The incident remains under investigation.
Anyone with any information regarding this incident are asked to contact Sergeant Tim Bakri at 920-906-5555 or to share anonymous tips at 920-906-4777.
