Appleton’s Octoberfest draws more than 200,000 people to downtown each year. To avoid the parking pandemonium Valley Transit is offering a great deal to help you get home safely.
Valley Transit General Manager Ron McDonald and Assistant General Manager Amy Erickson joined Local 5 This Morning Monday with details on their special $0.25 fares for the event.
Valley Transit is offering $0.25 fares on all bus routes during License to Cruise on Friday, September 28, 2018, beginning at 3:45 p.m.
The $0.25 fares are good again on all Valley Transit bus routes and from special Park & Ride locations on Saturday, September 29, 2018, during Appleton’s Octoberfest.
Saturday Park and Ride Locations:
- Fox Valley Technical College (bus pick up/drop off is at the bus shelter in East Lot near Entrance 1)
- Appleton East High School (bus pick up/drop off is at the bus shelter on Schaefer Street)
- Goodwill Industries – Menasha (bus pick up/drop off is at the bus shelter on Appleton Road. Please do not park in front of retail store!)
- Valley Packaging – Roemer Road location (bus pick up/drop off is at the bus shelter near the building)
Valley Transit’s special park & ride shuttles start after 8:45 AM on Saturday and run a continuous loop from downtown Appleton to each lot. Service is approximately every 30 minutes but may be closer to 45 minutes during peak times (late morning and late afternoon) due to heavy traffic downtown. This special shuttle service ends at 6:30 PM on Saturday, but regular bus route service will continue. Last route buses will depart the Transit Center at 9:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.
All Valley Transit rides will drop off and reload at the Transit Center on Washington Street (next to the Appleton Public Library).
Check out myvalleytransit.com for bus routes near your neighborhood or call 920-832-5800 to get route information from Valley Transit’s friendly dispatchers. Please note that there is no special service to Park & Ride lots on Friday.
