Water Causes Damage to Fox Crossing Apartment Complex

Local News

Residents of a multi-unit apartment are okay after water was found leaking into the building, causing damage.

It happened after 11 pm Tuesday night  when the Fox Crossing Fire Department was called to the 2400 block of Wilson Ct. Upon arrival, they found water leaking into the building from the roof, as well as water damage and drywall collapse in 7 apartment units and throughout the hallways. Water was also leaking on electrical utilities inside the building.

“With the rain, the thawing, the freezing, it just built up, it’s typical,” said Fox Crossing Fire Chief Brian Harbison. “We assessed around 12 members that were going to need to be relocated.”

Thankfully, there were no injuries. The Red Cross assisted with the relocation of the displaced residents for the night.

Damage to the apartment units is estimated at over $30,000, and there is no structural damage.

The Fox Crossing Police Department also assisted on the scene.
