A water rescue was made at Manitou Park in Manitowoc early this morning.
The Manitowoc Fire Rescue was dispatched to the park around 7:45 am, as they got an alert of a person in the river holding on to a branch and screaming for help.
MFRD responded with an ambulance and rescue boat.
Upon arrival, an adult male holding on to the branch was not able to hang on anymore, and rescue personnel entered the river to keep the subject afloat while the rescue boat was deployed.
The male was placed in the rescue boat and returned to boat launch.
He was then transported to a local hospital.
The length of time the male was in the water is unknown.
